The museum graphically reviews the history of caricature in Mexico, a technique widely used by the press of the nineteenth century. It is one of the highest expressions of Mexican mischief. The cartoon has given voice to political and economic moments, events, football and celebrities in the country and has mocked them.
Works by Carreño, R. Moysen, Ruizte, F. Manjarrez, E. Gómez, Altamirano, Iracheta, Luis Xavier and others are on display. The museum was opened on March 19, 1987 and is located in the building of the Real Colegio de Cristo, dating from the sixteenth century.
