Plaza de las Américas #1, Col. Villa de Guadalupe. 07050, Villa de Guadalupe
On December 9, 1531, the Mexican tradition dictates that the Virgin of Guadalupe first appeared to Juan Diego Cuauhtlatoatzin. The Cerrito Chapel is exactly in the place where the Virgin asked Juan Diego during her fourth apparition to collect roses in his cloak and carry them to Fray Juan de Zumárraga.
The Cerrito Chapel is a Baroque building dating from 1666 to welcome the pilgrims. In their interior paintings of Fernando Leal, who relates the apparitions of the Virgin, are four marble angels from sculptor Ernesto Tamariz and a Cross of the apostolate placed in 1895. From the terrace you can enjoy the view of the city.
