in detail

This building is named after the insurance company that built it. The architects Manuel Ortiz Monasterio, Bernardo Calderon and Luis Ávila were in charge of construction. The building has no decorations on the outside; however, it stands out for its vertical lines in relief, the pyramidal structure on top and geometric shapes in general displaying the art déco style like the skyscrapers of New York. The building was built in 1932 and, at the time, it was considered the highest and most modern in Mexico. It currently houses the offices of the INBA.
