This park is known as La Marquesa. It has a length of 1,760 hectares with lots of history and green areas devoted to recreational activities. It is told that after the Spanish Conquest, Hernán Cortés gave Juana de Zúñiga permission to create a ranch she names La Marquesa. Years later, after the war of independence, those terrains saw the Batalla del Monte de las Cruces. By the decade of 1850, the place was fome of the first founded glass factory of Latin America.
In 1936, president Lázaro Cárdenas made a decreet and transformed La Marquesa into a National Park, because it is a coniferous forest of high impact value. It has fishing activities, mexican antojitos and trouts restaurants, pulque and maguey worm sale. In this park you can either ride a house, rent a cuatrimoto or exercise with mountain cycling, as well as mountainous activities and camping. An ideal place for children to play outdoors.
