in detail

The Jesus Reyes Heroles Culture House is a building from 1780. It is a venue for leisure and recreational activities, hosting exhibitions, lectures, plays, presentations and more than 60 workshops including danzon, salsa, tango, Afro-Caribbean, flamenco, digital photography, stained glass, watercolors and more.  The house boasts three galleries, a colorful kitchen decorated with Puebla talavera and two multipurpose rooms.

The house is named in honor of the prominent historian and political scientist from Veracruz. It was once owned by John Rubin de Celis and functioned as a paper mill. Over the years it served various purposes. It was the home of the presidential campaign of Miguel de la Madrid until it was donated to become a cultural center.
