in detail

It is a mural done by Manuel Rodríguez Lozano. It was originally created in the walls of Palacio de Lecumberri in 1942; however, some time after, it was displaced and is currently a part of the murals exhibited in Museo del Palacio de Bellas Artes.

The idea of the mural was born thanks to the thoughts of captivity, which according to experts; refer to the pain and suffering of Mexicans, especially during foreign interventions such as the Conquest.
