in detail

National Center for the Arts (CENART) is a place for artistic education and dissemination since 1994. Among its multiple activities there are professional education, research, creation and dissemination of arts. In its interiors, we may find spaces that work as platform of modern and contemporary artists, such as the galleries Juan Soriano, Arte Eléctrico, Galería Esmeralda, Espacio Alternativo Esmeralda, Galería A/B, Galería Espacio Alternativo and Central.

CENART offers workshops aimed at small children so they can enter in the art world. Every weekend you can take a ludic tour through the facilities of CENART and take the introductory lesson to art.

Ricardo Legorreta, Noé Castro Castro, Teodoro González de León, Enrique Norten, Luis Vicente Flores, Javier Calleja, Alfonso López Baz and Javier Sordo were in charge of building Cenart. It consists of five professional artistic education centers: Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica, Escuela Nacional de Arte Teatral, Escuela Nacional de Danza Clásica y Contemporánea, Escuela Superior de Música and Escuela Nacional de Pintura, Escultura y Grabado “La Esmeralda”.
