República de Brasil s/n, Col. Centro. 06020, Historic Center
The square is located in the former home of Cuauhtémoc, the last Mexica tlatoani. It was named Plaza de Santo Domingo in the sixteenth century when a the church and convent of the same name were built on the square. In front of the portals of the Evangelists —where the scribes still set up shop— is a fountain with the statue of Josefa Ortiz de Domínguez, a key figure in Mexico's Independence.
