Its full name is the San Ignacio de Loyola Vizcaínas College and it has been an educational institution since the eighteenth century. It is also known as the house of Chaplains. It is the only institution that has operated continuously in Mexico since colonial times. Their curricula ranges from preschool through high school. The building is in Baroque style and José Miguel de Rivera Saravia was in charge of architecture.

Inside it houses a museum with collections of oil paintings by renowned colonial artists like Miguel Cabrera, José de Ibarra, Cristobal Villalpando and others. It contains cane, wood and ivory carvings, embroidery of different styles, musical instruments, religious items, liturgical objects, books and pharmaceutical items of the time. The facilities can be rented for social and corporate events.
