The south by Turibus: University City, shopping and charming neighborhoods

TOP EXPERIENCES · Arts & museums, History, Traditional
Take 4 hours

A definitely eclectic day. Southern Mexico City offers a very diverse mosaic of landscapes so that, by the end of the day, you feel you have visited five different cities. Or rather a large metropolis, three villages and a university town like no other you have ever seen.

For starters, the Turibus leaves from one of the main arteries of the metropolis to run into an iconic skyscraper such as the World Trade Center and the largest bullring in the world. At the next stop, you get off at San Angel, with its colonial flavor, narrow streets, flowered balconies, small shops of folk art and fine restaurants. Then it drives through picturesque scenery and arrives at the Mecca of functionalist architecture, the Ciudad Universitaria. The campus is a World Heritage Site, an ode to Mexican and cutting edge. There are several stops along the way and if you are traveling with kids Universium is a must. Want to go shopping? The Turisbus takes you to several shopping centers. Tired of the hustle and bustle? Get off at Tlalpan to enjoy its provincial charm or continue to Coyoacán another neighborhood with the soul and atmosphere of a bohemian village with its indispensible cafes, bars and museums, such as Casa Azul de Frida Kahlo (Casa Azul of Frida Kahlo). So many options to choose from!
