Antigua Madero bookshop was established in 1951 on Madero street, in Mexico’s City downtown. With the closure of Madero street to cars and its opening as a completely pedestrian street, it had to be relocated to Isabel la Católica street with a change of name, from Librería Madero to Antigua Madero. 

This bookshop is among the specials of the city because you can find here antique and modern books, mainly related to Mexico or written by mexican authors from the XVI, XVII, XVIII, XIXI, XX and XXI centuries. Every single book from here has been properly repaired or preserved with the most of cares, because the mission of the place is to dignify the book to keep the circulation going.

It is opened and directed to general public, but specially to librarians, researchers, historians, book collectors and literature lovers.
