Festivals in Mexico City

order by:

What this section covers. The festival calendar of Mexico City — music, film, food, books and the street festivals that take over whole neighbourhoods.

The fixed points. The Festival de México en el Centro Histórico fills the colonial palaces and churches of the centre with concerts and theatre in the spring. FICUNAM and Ambulante cover film in the first half of the year. The Feria Internacional del Libro at the Palacio de Minería runs in February and the FIL Zócalo in October. The Vive Latino and Corona Capital music festivals fill the Foro Sol in spring and autumn.

The neighbourhood ones. Street festivals in the Roma and Condesa, the feria of each original pueblo around its patron saint's day, and the Día de Muertos programming that occupies the whole city in late October.

Practical notes. Dates move from year to year, so confirm before booking travel around one. The large music festivals sell out months ahead; most of the public and civic programming is free and unticketed.
