“Duality” is one of Tamayo’s best preserved murals. It is located at the National Anthropology and History Museum. This stunning mural was painted in 1964, it measures 12 metres wide, and visitors can see it at the Jaime Torres Bodet auditorium. Tamayo was inspired by the notion in Nahuatl cosmogony of complementary opposites to interpret pre-Columbian mythology. This work was also a result of the political and social context of that time.
