The University Cultural Center is located South of the city and is part of the National Autonomous University of Mexico. Several venues with different cultural offerings are contained within its ample space.
The complex includes the University Museum of Contemporany Art (MUAC), the Miguel Covarrubias Hall, the Movie Theater (Unidad de Cines José Revueltas, Julio Bracho and Carlos Monsivais), the Carlos Chavez Hall, the Juan Ruiz de Alarcón theater, the Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz Forum, the Nezahualcoyotl Hall, the University Center of Theater and the Sculpture Space, where a series of sculptures blend into the sea of lava, resulting from the eruption of Xitle. The arts, nature, gastronomy and traditional knowledge converge in these spaces at affordable prices to be enjoyed by all Mexicans.
The CCU also holds workshops from ages 6 to 14. The themes are varied, but each one is focussed on developing creativity through games, science and art.
It is recommended to check the official website to know schedules and fees.
