What it is. Right outside Metro Atlalilco there is a skate spot that was never designed as one: the concrete, ledges and steps of the station plaza were adopted by local skaters, and over time it became a fixture for young people across this part of the city. Expect a street spot, not a built park —no coping, no bowls, just the architecture used the way skaters use it.
Going there. Atlalilco station is an interchange between metro Lines 8 and 12, so getting there is simple from the centre or from the south. Daylight hours are the sensible choice; the plaza is busy with commuters, so the skating shares space with foot traffic. For a purpose-built park nearby, the Iztapalapa and Cabeza de Juárez skateparks are the alternatives.
