What it is. A few minutes from Santa Fe, Parque Tarango covers 16 hectares and was conceived as the city's first sustainable park: solar panels for night lighting and rainwater harvesting for irrigation. It occupies a rehabilitated ravine, one of the canyons that shape the west of Mexico City.
What you can do. A track for walking and running, playgrounds and lawns. This is a neighbourhood park, and a useful one if you are staying or working around Santa Fe, where public open space is scarce. Weekday mornings are very quiet.
Getting there. In the Álvaro Obregón borough, in the west of the city. There is no metro nearby: come by car or taxi, or take a bus from Tacubaya station towards Santa Fe.
