Cultural Center Keren Tá Merced

Keren Tá is tzeltal for “kids from Merced”. This cultural center is a restaurant where you can eat mexican antojitos such as quesadillas, tacos, huaraches and flavored water, but its main attraction is that it teaches kids about their own roots. Children may enjoy different workshops, from poetry, cardboard and alebrijes, radio, esthetic, recycling to cinema, among others. Raúl, owner of Keren Tá, explains that this place is a way to get back the Merced area everything it has given so new generations would not forget where they come from. This is a place of great tradition to eat and interact with people. It is located in the 24 door of the Merced market.
