The Diego Rivera Mural Museum houses the painting Sueño de una tarde dominical en la Alameda Central, a Rivera mural made for the Hotel del Prado Misión in 1947. In this magna painting Hernán Cortés, Friar Juan de Zumarraga, Sister Juana Ines de la Cruz, Benito Juárez, Porfirio Diaz and Francisco I. Madero parade, among other important players in the history of Mexico, condensing 400 years of history.
It accommodates other modern and contemporary expressions, such as photography, painting, graphics and sculpture; it is also a forum for research, development of exhibitions and educational activities such as guided tours, lectures, workshops and recreational spaces.
