This museum was founded in 2006 from the collection of items, more than 20 thousand, collected by the writer and historian Carlos Monsivais. The name of the museum reflects the name previously given to small shops where you could find all kinds of goods, kiosks flourished in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. The museum exhibits photographs, paintings, historical documents, pictures and thumbnails of the economic, cultural and social life of Mexico. There is also a reading room and workshops and guided tours are offered.
