The Nezahualcoyotl Hall was a project initiated by Eduardo Mata, designed by architect Arcadio Artis and Christopher Jaffe. This monumental concert hall is designed specifically for symphonic music functions. A resonance chamber under the stage and acrylic surfaces at the top achieve the best acoustics. In this polygonal building, the audience surrounds the stage oand the music is heard equally clearly from any seat. The University Culture Center hosts the UNAM philharmonic orchestra. It has capacity for 2,177 spectators and is considered one of the best concert halls in Latin America.
