Pabellón del Valle

What it is. A small shopping plaza on Avenida Universidad, in Santa Cruz Atoyac, organised around a Chedraui supermarket, with a food court, cinema screens and cheap parking.

Who it is useful for. Anyone staying in Del Valle or the south who needs to sort out everyday things: groceries, a pharmacy, a quick meal or a film without crossing the city. It is not a sight; it is neighbourhood infrastructure.

A useful detail for travellers. The supermarket is, in practice, the cheapest way to buy bottled water, fruit and snacks if your accommodation has a kitchen — and in Mexico City bottled water is not optional, because the tap water is not drunk.

Practicalities. Open every day from 09:00 to 22:00. Avenida Universidad #740. Metro Zapata and Coyoacán on line 3 are nearby, and the centre of Coyoacán is a few minutes by taxi.
