Murals were made in the beginnings of 50's and it was dedicated to prehispanic governor Cuauhtémoc. Both of them should be looked at as one master piece. Siqueiros himself mentioned on the inauguration day that “it was a singing to Cuauhtémoc and an image of the fight that weak towns have to deal with”.
The torment of the abovementioned governor in the moment he is been tortured in order to reveal the great treasures of the region may be seen in the image.
