Universum, Science Museum of UNAM, became more than 20 years ago the first interactive science museum in Mexico. The museum seeks to raise interest in science among children, teenagers, and young adults through workshps and games specially designed for every age. Its mission is to contribute to the formation of a scientific and technological culture in society.
The permanent exhibitions are Structure of Matter; Butterfly Haven Parákata; Patli, medicinal plants; Biodiversity; Mathematics; Golem, artificial intelligence module; r3 reduce, reuse, recycle; The brain, our bridge to the world; Chemistry is in everything; Universe; Window of Euclid; Awareness of our city; Evolution, life, and time; Population; Health, life balance and Sexuality.
In its interior is the country's first planetarium called José de la Herrán, in honor of one of the pioneers of television in Mexico, and an area recreational Science workshop. In parallel, features areas for holding congresses, book presentations, conferences, seminars, roundtables, concerts, awards, classes, exhibitions, workshops, demonstrations, and other events whose theme revolves around science.
