What it is. A transport service built to connect Mexico City with the state of Puebla and to encourage cultural exchange between the two. In practice, it is an organised way of making the most logical excursion out of the capital.
Why Puebla is the obvious escape. It is about two hours away by motorway and packs into a single day a World Heritage historic centre, the Capilla del Rosario, talavera ceramics, Puebla cooking — mole, chiles en nogada in season, cemitas — and Cholula, with the largest pyramid in the world by volume, fifteen minutes further on.
What to confirm before booking. The departure point and time, what the service includes — transfers only, or guided visits and entrance fees too — the return time, and whether you can move around on your own during the day. The contact number is a Puebla one, so this is an operation run from there.
The alternative. If you prefer to go independently, first-class coaches leave the TAPO terminal every few minutes and the journey costs little. For a full day, leaving before 08:00 makes all the difference.
