Módulos de información

VISITOR INFO · Profesionales que estarán encantados de hacer tu estancia inolvidable.

What they are. Tourist information modules are official visitor service points run by the Mexico City tourism ministry. They stand at the busiest places — the Zócalo and the historic centre, Paseo de la Reforma, Chapultepec, Coyoacán, the airport terminals and the coach stations — and they are free.

What they are actually good for. Three concrete things: getting a printed map of the city and the Metro, working out how to reach a specific place by public transport, and asking for verified information on opening hours, prices and closing days of museums and sites. They also point you towards official routes and towards where to hire an accredited guide.

How to recognise them. They are signposted modules carrying the city government's branding, with uniformed staff. Do not confuse them with people who approach visitors in the street offering tours or timeshares: the official service sells nothing and takes no commission.

Hours and alternatives. They operate in daylight hours, normally 09:00 to 18:00, varying by location. For emergencies the number is 911, and for general city information Locatel answers 24 hours a day on 55 5658 1111.
