What this is. The information desk at the offices of the Mexico City tourism ministry — the body that runs the whole network of modules, the tourist police liaison and the city's official visitor programmes. Free, staffed and selling nothing.
Why come to this one rather than a street module. Because it is the source. This is where to resolve the things a desk at a hotel cannot: formal complaints about a service or an operator, questions about accredited guides and their credentials, official route and festival calendars, and accessibility arrangements.
What everyone should ask for. A printed map of the city and the Metro, and the current list of module locations — the network covers the airport, the four coach terminals, the Zócalo, Reforma, Chapultepec, Coyoacán, Xochimilco, the major museums and a string of hotels.
Practical notes. Office hours, Monday to Friday, which is different from the street modules. For anything urgent outside those hours, 911 is the national emergency number and Locatel answers general city questions 24 hours a day on 55 5658 1111.
