Centro Comercial Parque Delta

What it is. A shopping centre on Avenida Cuauhtémoc in Narvarte, open since 2005, with more than 130 units spread over three levels: shops, restaurants, a food court, cinemas and boutiques. It receives well over fifteen million visits a year, which tells you it is the everyday mall of the central-southern colonias rather than a destination.

The history under it. The name is not decorative: this is the site of the old Parque Delta baseball stadium, home of the Diablos Rojos del México for decades. The stadium was demolished in the 1990s and the mall took its place —a piece of the city's sporting history under the car park.

Practical notes. Open 11:00–20:00 Monday to Friday and 11:00–21:00 at weekends. Paid parking. Metro Centro Médico (Lines 3 and 9) and Etiopía are both within walking distance, and it is one of the easiest malls in the city to reach without a car. Useful if you are staying in Roma, Narvarte or Del Valle and need a cinema, a pharmacy or a supermarket in one trip.
