Café Punta del Cielo Loreto

The house. Punta del Cielo is a Mexican specialty-coffee chain working with national beans — above all from Chiapas and Veracruz, the country's two great coffee states. It is the local alternative to the international chains and it is all over the city.

This branch. It sits in Plaza Loreto, in Tizapán, San Ángel: the old paper-mill complex converted into a shopping and cultural centre, which also holds the Soumaya Plaza Loreto Museum. The ensemble, with its industrial halls and water running through the courtyard, is more interesting than the average mall.

Getting there and when. San Ángel has no Metro: Metrobús along Insurgentes, or a taxi from Barranca del Muerto; there is mall parking. Open every day from 08:00 to 21:00. On Saturdays, with the Bazar Sábado running, the whole of San Ángel saturates.
