Calz. del Hueso #519, Coapa, Granjas Coapa,CDMX 14300
The chain. Sushi Roll is one of the widespread Mexican sushi chains — fast, inexpensive, built around large rolls and designed for groups rather than for a counter.
What Mexican sushi actually is. A genre of its own, and worth understanding before ordering. Rolls are large, frequently breaded or baked with cheese on top, and built with cream cheese, avocado and sweet or spicy sauces. It is enormously popular across the country and bears little relation to Japanese sushi. If you want nigiri or sashimi, this is not the address.
Who it suits. Families and groups, where the shared platters make sense; and anyone wanting a cheap, predictable meal in a part of the city with few alternatives.
Where it puts you. Calzada del Hueso in Coapa, in the south of the city — residential ground built around shopping plazas, outside the visitor circuit. Cuicuilco, the Estadio Azteca and the southern end of Coyoacán are the nearest points of interest.
Practical notes. Calz. del Hueso #519, Granjas Coapa. There is no Metro nearby: the Tren Ligero and a taxi, or drive — there is parking, which is how almost everyone arrives. Cards accepted; delivery and takeaway available.
