What this is. A city-backed catalogue of around a hundred specialised tourism products — small operators and experiences, most of them run by one or two people, that between them cover far more of Mexico City than the standard circuit does.
Walking, cycling and the unexpected. Electric bike tours, Segway, México Bike Tours, Pedalea México, bicitrén tours of the UNAM campus, running tours, roller skating with "No patines sol@", and Tepitour — a guided walk through Tepito led by people from the neighbourhood. Also the viewing platform inside the Ángel de la Independencia, the Justo Sierra synagogue, the San Fernando cemetery museum and the INAH's own cultural walks.
Food and drink. Casa Jacaranda and Casa Tobalá cooking classes, Club Tengo Hambre, Mexican Food Tours, El Tinacal, Mezcaluchas, the Vinícola Urbana, the Mayahuel route at the tequila and mezcal museum, and a craft-beer workshop at La Graciela.
Outdoors. Kayaking, Los Dinamos, the Biciescuela, urban farming at Huerto Roma Verde and Cultiva Ciudad, the Ajusco, and the Xochiquetzalli trajineras.
Art, photography and performance. Street Art Chilango, Keith Dannemiller's photo tours, MicroTeatro México, Sensorama's sensory theatre, Pasaporte del Arte and guided visits to the Rivera and Kahlo studio houses.
How to use the list. These are independent operators, so confirm directly with each one: the language of the guide, what the price includes, the group size and the current schedule. Several run on fixed days only, and a few are seasonal.
