Av. México #5843, Col. La Noria. 16030

in detail

It is located in the former Hacienda La Noria, whose construction dates from the sixteenth century and that was acquired in 1962 by Dolores Olmedo Patiño, a philantropist and art collector. It was her home until 1994 when it was open as a museum. Ms. Olmedo had a collection of 50 paintings she had purchased since 1955 from Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo.Additionally, Dolores Olmedo bought pieces of pre-Columbian art on the advice of Rivera, the number of pieces totals 800.

The charm of the place starts in the gardens because you can find peacocks, geese, ducks, turkeys and xoloitzcuintle dogs, all from Mexico. In addition to permanent rooms where personal belongings of the prominent philanthropist and her travels are on display for the world; temporary exhibitions of artists from around the world are also held. This place holds workshops where people of all ages can participate. Those courses are designed in a way that even people under five years can assist and have fun creating. The site has been a meeting and dissemination point of Mexican popular culture.

Prices vary depending  between mexicans and foreigners.
