Calle Parque Lira #28, Observatorio,CDMX 11830
What it is. This is one of the best-known skateparks in the city, and not only for teenagers: families, couples and small children use the park around it as well. The surfaces suit several activities —roller skates, bikes and skateboards— so the crowd is mixed rather than specialist.
The park around it. Parque Lira is one of the oldest public gardens in Tacubaya, with mature trees, paths and open lawns: it is the green space of a dense, busy part of the city. The skatepark sits inside it, which is why it works for families —one group skates while the rest stay in the shade.
Getting there. In Tacubaya, west of the centre. Tacubaya station on metro Lines 1, 7 and 9 is a short walk, making this one of the easiest skateparks in the city to reach by public transport. The Casa de la Bola museum is in the same neighbourhood.
