Remède Spa

What it is. The spa of the St. Regis hotel, on the 15th floor of the tower on Paseo de la Reforma: seven treatment rooms, lounges, steam room and sauna, with services running from hand and foot care to the beauty salon, massage and fitness.

What sets it apart. The height and the view. Being on the 15th floor above Reforma means a treatment with the Bosque de Chapultepec and the Ángel de la Independencia in the background, which no ground-floor spa can offer.

Who it makes sense for. Anyone staying around Reforma who wants half a day of recovery, and anyone arriving off a long flight: a massage on the first day helps with the time change and with adjusting to 2,200 metres of altitude. Book ahead; hotel spas at this level work by appointment and weekends fill up.

Practicalities. Monday to Saturday 09:00 to 21:00, Sundays 10:00 to 19:00. Paseo de la Reforma #439; Metro Insurgentes and Sevilla are nearby, as is the Reforma Metrobús. Ask whether access to the steam room and sauna is included with the treatment or charged separately.
