What it is. The theatre belongs to the Parque de la Juventud, a public complex that also holds a multipurpose hall, performance forums, a centre for older adults, a sports area and green space. The park is built around social integration for young people, and the theatre is where that programme becomes public: performances, competitions and workshops.
What else is in the park. The site houses what is billed as the largest skatepark in Latin America, which is the main draw for teenagers from across the west of the city. The park runs wall-painting competitions in June and summer workshops in July, and neighbours use it for Mother's Day and Teacher's Day celebrations.
Before you go. Programming is local and announced close to the date: check what is on rather than turning up. The address is Prolongación Calle 10, colonia Tolteca, in Álvaro Obregón; the nearest access is from Avenida Observatorio or Metro Tacubaya with local transport from there.
