In the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries it was the Santa Teresa la Antigua Convent, where the Order of Discalced Carmelites of San José lived; it was sold later in 1859 and used as a neighborhood bodega and military barracks. The Anatomy Palace was the first seat of the Rector of the National University, indeed it was the place where the student movement arose that gave it autonomy in 1929. It is currently a museum, there is the Mexican Chamber of Dentistry, the Music Library of Radio UNAM and the external headquarters of the Centro de Enseñanza de Lenguas Extranjeras.
