The Banamex Culture Palace is the seat of Fomento Cultural Banamex, whose mission is to promote, preserve and disseminate Mexican culture. The property iwas the former Iturbide Palace, a jewel of Mexican baroque. Considered a palace because of the details in its architecture and the majestic condition of the cloisters it comprises.
On the 120th anniversary of Banamex, a project was launched in support of national culture and, in 2004, the museum display areas were conditioned and restored. About 4,300 artworks are displayed, including paintings of the major creative steps of Diego Rivera, José Clemente Orozco, "Doctor Atl", Joaquin Clausell and Frida Kahlo, among others, as well as a large collection of photographs by Manuel Alvarez Bravo.
It consists of exhibition halls, classrooms, a multipurpose room with computers and a bibliographical consultation room. Concerts, conferences, workshops and seminars are also organized.
