Av. México #5682, Col. La Noria. 16030, Xochimilco
What it is. A community cultural centre with a theatre in La Noria, Xochimilco, offering dance classes, workshops and courses for local residents alongside performances and artistic activities. It carries the name of the Tabascan poet Carlos Pellicer, who was also a cultural promoter and museographer.
What stands opposite. This is the fact that changes the plan: the theatre is across the road from the Museo Dolores Olmedo, one of the most important private collections in the country, with work by Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo in a sixteenth-century hacienda with gardens and xoloitzcuintle dogs. If you are coming this far, the logical visit is both together.
Short hours. It is open only on Saturdays and Sundays, from 10:00 to 13:00; the rest of the week it is closed to the general public. It is worth calling to confirm activities.
Getting there. Avenida México #5682, La Noria, Xochimilco. Tren Ligero to La Noria station, which is nearby, or a taxi from the centre of Xochimilco.
