Established in 1979, and since then, it has been an area that promotes, spreads, and educates culturally the inhabitants of the southern part of the city. There provide lessons for beginners, intermediate and higher levels of concert music, Mexican classical, and contemporary and traditional dance.

Annually serving over 2,200 children and teenagers. It has a movie theater and exhibition galleries. Ollin Yoliztli is home to the Mexico City Philharmonic Orchestra.

It houses the Silvestre Revueltas concert halls, with a capacity for 1,200 people, and Hermilo Novelo with 155 seats.
