The Esperanza Iris City Theater is one of the most emblematic venues of Mexico City Historic Center, an area declared World Heritage Site by the UNESCO in 1987. The theater is linked to the life of artist Esperanza Iris (1884-1962), who requested the building to resemble the La Scala theater in Milan. The project was performed by architects Ignacio Capetillo and Federico Mariscal.
Inaugurated on May 25, 1918, the theater has seen Mexican and international stars on stage in its almost 100 years of life.
