Calz. del Hueso 519, Coapa, Residencial Miramontes. 14300, Tlalpan
What it is. A shopping centre in Coapa, in the Tlalpan borough, opened in 1992 and part of Grupo Liverpool's network of more than twenty-five Galerías malls. It holds around 130 units, including restaurant chains and services —a relatively compact mall serving a well-off residential area rather than a destination for visitors.
Why it was closed. The building was badly damaged in the 2017 earthquakes, and at one point experts considered demolishing it. It stayed shut for more than a year before being repaired and reopened, which is the reason many older references list it as closed.
What is nearby. The Alameda del Sur park is a few minutes' walk north, along with the Parque Salvador Allende and the Vicente Guerrero library —useful if you want air between errands.
Getting there. The address is Calzada del Hueso 519, Coapa. Public transport is the weak point: the Textitlán stop on the Xochimilco Tren Ligero line is about a thirty-minute walk, and there is no metro station nearby, so most people arrive by car or taxi along Canal de Miramontes.
