Jardín Hidalgo #1, Col. Villa Coyoacán. 04000, Coyoacán
This building was the first town hall established by Hernan Cortes, and it functioned for a short time as the conquest was taking place. It was also the home of the famous conqueror.
The current building dates back to the 18th century, where it was used as town office. Today it is the see of the Coyoacan District. It features an arcade with a bell, a central courtyard, a civil registry chapel, paintings depicting the history of the neighbourhood by Diego Rosales, and a pre-hispanic Coyoacan allegory by Aurora Reyes.
