The building goes unnoticed by passers despite having a neoclassical baroque architectural style very common in the first sector of the city. There is one detail that makes this place special: the worship of San Judas Tadeo "El Santo de las causas imposibles".

Although the church is dedicated to San Hipolito, worship of San Judas eventually prevailed among neighbors and poor people. The statues, some the size of a person, are blessed every October 28, making this site one of the most colorful and important active pilgrimage centers in the country.
