San Luis Tlaxialtemalco is one of the best-preserved villages in Xochimilco. Every weekend this forest becomes the meeting place for families and couples. It´s an ideal setting for eating out or enjoying outdoor activities.

In 2008 the Mexico City government took on the conservation of the flora and fauna of the place. Hence, the 30,000 sq mt of forest are under the administration of the local Secretaría de Medio Ambiente.
