What it is. A theatre in colonia San Rafael, on Antonio Caso, belonging to the union of Mexico City government workers. It works as a multi-purpose hall: besides theatre it hosts assemblies, conferences, ceremonies and union and community events.
What gets programmed. An irregular bill, with theatre seasons, family shows and institutional events. Since it is not a commercial theatre, the programme is not announced months ahead: the practical move is to call the number on the listing and ask what is on.
The area. San Rafael is one of the oldest neighbourhoods in the city, full of Porfirian mansions, and it adjoins Santa María la Ribera, home to the Moorish Kiosk and the Geology Museum. It is a district that walks well by day and that almost no visitor covers.
Practicalities. The offices are open Thursday to Sunday from 09:00 to 17:00. Metro San Cosme and Revolución, line 2, are a few minutes on foot.
