What it is. A theatre on calle Versalles, in colonia Juárez, programming drama, family shows and events. It is a mid-sized house in a neighbourhood that has very few, which is most of its value.
Where it puts you. Juárez sits between the historic centre and Paseo de la Reforma, next to the Zona Rosa and a short walk from the Monumento a la Revolución, which has a viewing deck and a panoramic lift. The neighbourhood has been through a long revival: its Porfirian mansions now hold galleries, restaurants and design shops, and the stretch around Versalles and Berlín is among the pleasantest in the centre to walk.
What to expect from the programme. Independent Mexican theatre, performed in Spanish without surtitles, with seasons announced a few weeks ahead rather than months. Tickets cost a fraction of the commercial circuit in Polanco. Call the number on this page to ask what is playing — small theatres here rarely publish far in advance.
Practical notes. Versalles #27, colonia Juárez. Metro Cuauhtémoc and Insurgentes, line 1, are a few minutes away, and the Reforma Metrobús stops close by. Evening performances usually start at 20:00 or later; for the trip home, use an app taxi.
