Centenario #60, Col. Del Carmen. 04100, Coyoacán
What it is. A taquería on Avenida Centenario, a few streets from the centre of Coyoacán, with long hours: from one in the afternoon until 01:30 in the morning, and until midnight on Sundays.
What it is for. Coyoacán is a daytime neighbourhood: the museums close, the market pulls its shutters down and the squares empty early. The few addresses that stay open at night are the ones that solve dinner after a cantina or a show, and this is one of them.
What to order. Tacos off the grill and off the trompo, with the salsas on the table. The local rule: taste the salsa with the tip of the taco before you pour it on, because the range runs from mild to very hot with no warning. The agua fresca of the day is the drink that goes with it.
Getting there. Centenario #60, colonia Del Carmen. Coyoacán has no Metro of its own: the Coyoacán and Viveros-Derechos Humanos stations on line 3 are about twenty minutes on foot, and for the trip back in the small hours an app taxi is the sensible choice.
