Amberes #1, Col. Juárez. 06600, Reforma-Zona Rosa
Three floors, three plans. Kinky Bar — formerly Lipstick — stands on the corner of Amberes, in the heart of the Zona Rosa, and works as three venues in one: the ground floor, La Chipocluda, is cantina-style drinking with friends; the second floor is karaoke; and the third is the Gran Terraza, looking onto Paseo de la Reforma and the Ángel de la Independencia.
Why the terrace is worth it. Because few open terraces in the city have that view, and fewer still at bar prices. Go up early if you want a table at the edge: those go first.
The context. Calle Amberes is the axis of LGBT life in the Zona Rosa, with dozens of venues within a few blocks: it is the most concentrated going-out area in the city and it is covered on foot.
Practicalities. Wednesday to Saturday from 22:00 to 03:00; closed the rest of the week. There is a cover charge depending on the night. Metro Insurgentes, line 1, is two minutes away, and the Insurgentes Metrobús passes the roundabout.
