Mérida #17, Col. Roma Norte. 06700, Roma
What it is. An institution of Mexico City nightlife, and nothing like a normal club. Patrick Miller is a dance hall devoted to high energy —Giorgio Moroder, Divine, Donna Summer, Limahl, Yazoo— where the floor organises itself into circles and people take turns dancing solo in the middle while the rest watch and clap. Laser beams and a basic sound system; the spectacle is entirely the crowd.
Why go. Because it is the most democratic room in the city. The crowd is mixed in every sense —ages, classes, sexualities— there is no dress code worth the name, no bottle service culture, and the whole evening is about dancing rather than being seen. For many visitors it ends up the most memorable night of the trip.
Practical notes. Mérida #17 in Roma Norte, open Friday and Saturday only, from 20:30 to around 03:00, and closed the rest of the week. Entry is cheap and paid in cash at the door; expect a queue after midnight. Metrobús Álvaro Obregón and metro Insurgentes or Hospital General are all nearby; take a ride app home.
