It is a Protected Natural Area which is located at the North of the city and comprises the range of mountains of Guadalupe, Chiquihuite hills, Zacatenco, Vicente Guerrero and Gachupines. It is an area of more than 633ha. The type of vegetation is Xeric scrublands composed of cacti, agaváceas and legume. There are birds such as eagles and owls; there are also mammals such as tlacuaches, skunks, squirrels; as well as three kinds of rattlesnakes and frogs. There is no doubt that biodiversity enriches this place.
