In 1827, Political Constitution of Estado de México arranged the creation of a literay institute, which was accomplished years later, by Governor Lorenzo Zavala. This institute was later relocated to a building the Estado government rescued and gave to Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México in 1986, in order to be the home of culture with cultural academic activities.
